I was born and raised in the Midwest and attended college at North Dakota State University. I earned bachelor’s degrees in architecture and philosophy and upon graduation I re-located to the east coast to start my career. I am licensed as an architect in the state of New Jersey and I have worked at a variety of firms since 2005. Throughout my career, I’ve been privileged to work on lots of exciting residential and commercial projects in the area as well as many other parts of the country.

I enjoy working on a broad variety of project types, and what I love most about the field of architecture is the requirement that its practitioners are well suited to think both broadly – with thoughtfulness and a curiosity toward the comprehensive – as well as narrowly and precisely – diving deep into the details to understand how something will work. I find great pleasure in the balancing act of zooming in and out to analyze a design problem from all the available angles, all while viewing it through a lens of creativity and experimentation.

When I’m outside the office, I like to spend time with my many different musical instruments, of which I play to varying degrees of inadequacy. I love acquiring new instruments, especially when I travel, and then taking the time to teach myself how to play them as best I can.
